Ways to Give
Have you ever heard, “It takes a village?” Well here at The Village South we truly know the meaning of this phrase. We depend on you, your generosity and thoughtfulness to make our agency operate. But more than just operate, We Uplift the Human Spirit. And who wouldn’t want to be a part of that?
There are few other more vulnerable populations than individuals struggling with addiction, mothers, and children. These are the people that we serve and strive to help through their recovery.
Addiction has become an epidemic in our country and we have seen record numbers of people dying from overdose. When you give, you give a voice to those who cannot speak or are not able to find help. We can do this together and fight addiction through healing the wounded soul.
Donate Money
Would you like to help a mother with her children get off the street and start her recovery? Would you like to see a teenager, that’s struggling with whether or not she should succumb to peer pressure and continue drinking alcohol, get the help she needs? Or maybe someone’s son, who keeps overdosing and can’t seem to stop using drugs, get diagnosed properly with the right medications and treatment?
If these sound like important situations to you, then giving to The Village South is exactly what you should do. To have a direct impact on these individuals, to see a family get healthy and be able to provide a scholarship for them to receive services are just a few reasons why now is the time to give.
Donate Items
At The Village South we have a Wish List of items that are of great importance to our consumers. These items help our programs run smoothly but also assist us in providing things that our consumers highly need. Rest assured that we do not sell any treasures that we are given. We only take items that are new or ‘like new’, in other words gently used.
To donate items please email vsinfo@westcare.com or call our main number (800) 443-3784 with any of your questions.

Donate Time
We greatly value volunteers at The Village South and all the time and passion that you put into giving back. There are many projects that you can get involved with but most importantly we want to get to know YOU! One of the first steps to get involved is to come for a tour of the center and meet with one of our Directors to discuss your interests and skills that you’d like to share with us.
Although all volunteers have some forms to complete, and possibly need a level 2 background check, we will make it as easy as possible for you to accomplish these tasks to get you started quickly. The impact you can make is immeasurable at times because it’s difficult to put a price on the smile of child, or making a person feel special, but we guarantee that whatever you do it will change the lives of many people.
One example of the impact some volunteers had on one of our residential clients that lived with us comes to mind. She had just been reunited with her young child. This was the first time they were going to live together and mom was a little nervous. A group of volunteers came in and re-painted her entire apartment in the residential building and purchased comforters for their beds. This moms little girl jumped in her arms and said,
Look mommy! We’re home. I even have a pretty bed…I love you mommy!
This client’s 4 year old daughter considered our center home because she had the chance to finally live with mommy. But also it’s those small things that have such a big impact on our clients.
Please help us to continue to impact the lives of those struggling with addiction and their families. Giving of your time has a ripple effect to all those you’re helping as well as those individuals in their lives.
