Child Welfare Specialty Program (CWSP)

Areas Serviced: Broward & Miami-Dade

The Child Welfare Specialty Program (CWSP) provides outpatient substance abuse treatment services to individuals with a substance use disorder that is involved in the child welfare system. Parents that are deemed safe by the child welfare system are eligible for this program.

The modality of treatment and use of evidenced-based models is parallel to those of the Family Intensive Treatment Team (FITT) program. The program delivers services through a targeted team of therapist, care coordinator and peer specialist. The typical length of stay for CWSP is 4-6 months. Parents in this program generally maintain in-home care of their children and are provided with substance abuse treatment to prevent re-entry into the child welfare system.
